Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic contest. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. First competing in the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she won. In her first international competition in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. She won four gold and one silver in her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was the first time she had competed as an adult. She was the first woman to do a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. The story of Carol Wayne in the world of entertainment started as a teenager. With her sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. When she was a child she was the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured skating on ice performed by actors.
