April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music at the age of 7 in which she began guitar and piano lessons. At the age of 12 when she wrote her first single Different. At 14 old, she dedicated an enormous amount of time creating song ideas as well as perfecting the song. Soon, April began taking trips across NY and LA with her Dad to help them to write songs. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her classmates who struggle with such things as peer pressure disabilities and even teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart has her own following and also works as a lifestyle blogger at the renowned Ilia clean beauty brand. Lockhart was never born having a left-handed hand, which is the reason she's what she is. It's just not the whole story. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not focus solely on it. The point? that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and that we are beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I don't think that will define me. My goal is not to be an influencer on disability, because I've plenty to offer." My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. But, I consider that it is a crucial component of my life. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart truly inspires me on that front. She still admits having gone through a few phases with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothing that displayed the arms of her. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself in the outfits she chooses on social platforms. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a place to go. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever the source of their anxiety. It's my opinion that having those close to you who truly are aware of you and know your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you concerned about?
